The cap changes which hotels to promote
With a US$10 cap, a booking stops earning more once the commission reaches US$10. At 5%, that happens at about a US$200 booking. Above that, a pricier stay pays the same as a mid-range one. For Ambassador creators, mid-range hotels that more people actually book often earn more in total than a single luxury stay.
