Each business phone number gets 1,000 free service messages a month. From the 1,001st, every reply is charged at that country's utility rate. The free 1,000 don't roll over.
Several WhatsApp providers say utility messages sent inside an open customer service window became chargeable on 1 October 2026. When we checked on 11 October, Meta's developer page still showed the earlier rule that made them free. This calculator charges every utility message, so your estimate is never too low.
Businesses whose Meta billing country is India must move their WhatsApp Business Accounts to INR by 31 December 2026. From 1 January 2027, Meta will stop delivering messages from India-billed accounts that are not on INR. Read what changed and what to do.
A few countries moved out of their regional groups and now have their own rates, so check the table below for your market.
Each tool's published per-message price for messages to Indian numbers, compared with Meta's own rate for the same message. Subscriptions are separate and not included here.
| Tool | Marketing messages | Utility messages | How it's charged | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tadlo AI | 0% markup | 0% markup | Meta bills you directly | tadlo.ai |
| Gallabox | 15.0% above Meta | 15.0% above Meta | Prepaid message credits | gallabox.com/pricing |
| AiSensy | 26.3% above Meta | 26.1% above Meta | Prepaid wallet | aisensy.com/pricing |
| Gupshup | 8.5% above Meta | 71.4% above Meta | Flat fee added to every message | gupshup.ai |
Meta's charges are your messages in each category multiplied by Meta's rate for that country. Service replies are charged only above 1,000 a month, the free allowance on one business number.
Your current tool adds the markup you enter to all of Meta's charges, plus its monthly fee.
Tadlo AI uses the cheapest plan that covers your unique customers, with extra contacts billed in blocks of 5,000. Marketing messages need the Growth plan or above. Meta's charges are the same on both bills, with no markup.
Not included: taxes such as GST or VAT, authentication messages, Meta's volume discounts (which start at very high volumes), and free entry points from click-to-WhatsApp ads.
Meta charges per message. From 1 October 2026, a marketing message to an Indian number costs ₹0.8631$0.0118, and utility and service messages cost ₹0.115$0.0014 each. Every business phone number gets 1,000 free service messages a month. On top of Meta's charges, WhatsApp tools add their own subscription, and many also add a markup on Meta's rate.
Not fully. Since 1 October 2026, Meta gives each business phone number 1,000 free service messages a month and charges for every service message after that, at the same rate as a utility message in that country.
It is not settled. Several WhatsApp providers say these became chargeable on 1 October 2026, but Meta's developer page still showed the earlier rule, which made them free, when we checked on 11 October 2026. To be safe, this calculator charges every utility message.
Yes, if your Meta billing country is India. Meta requires those WhatsApp Business Accounts to move to INR billing by 31 December 2026, and from 1 January 2027 it will stop delivering messages from India-billed accounts that are not on INR.
Not right now. Meta has paused marketing template messages to US (+1) numbers. Utility and service messages to US numbers still work. The North America marketing rate on this page applies to Canadian numbers.
Many WhatsApp tools collect Meta's per-message charges through a prepaid wallet and charge you more per message than Meta does. The difference is the markup. For example, on 11 October 2026 AiSensy's published price for a marketing message to an Indian number was about 26% above Meta's own rate.
No provider can go below Meta's own per-message rate, so the cheapest setup passes Meta's rate through with no markup and has a subscription that fits your volume. Tadlo AI adds no markup: Meta bills you directly and Tadlo charges only a flat monthly plan, with a free forever plan for up to 10 messages a day. Put your own volumes into the calculator on this page to compare.
Your WhatsApp Business Account is created inside your own Meta business account, and Meta bills message charges to the payment method you add there. Tadlo never handles that money, so it cannot add anything to it. Tadlo's only charge is its monthly plan.
Meta can change its rate card only on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October, with at least one month's notice. We update this page when Meta publishes a new rate card.
